Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information MeerCook processes and why.

Proposed revision · October 16, 2026 · Not yet effective

1. Privacy inquiries

For questions, complaints, or requests concerning personal information, contact asdfg852456@gmail.com.

2. Information collected and purposes

Account and login: account identifiers, profile name and image, authentication information, login times, IP address, and browser information are collected during use to provide login, saved work, and account security. Social login may provide the selected provider’s identifier, email, profile, and authentication tokens. Passkey registration collects authentication credentials, but not device biometrics or private keys.

Cooking and personalization: submitted messages and attachments, replies, recipes, photos, meal plans, kitchen and cooking records, language, time zone, region, units, and remembered preferences are processed to provide requested features and conversation continuity. Usage, errors, and execution records, which may include conversation inputs and outputs, are processed for usage management, security, and troubleshooting.

Support: the name or identifier, reply contact, request details, and handling history provided when contacting MeerCook are processed to respond to the request. Information necessary to perform the requested service is processed on the contractual basis permitted by law; optional analytics uses consent. Other processing requires an applicable legal basis.

3. Retention and destruction

Account information, conversations, and saved cooking content are retained for ongoing service use until account closure or the relevant deletion request is processed. When information is no longer necessary, it is destroyed without undue delay unless the law requires retention. Any legally retained information is separated from ordinary use. Electronic records are deleted to prevent recovery; paper records, if any, are shredded or destroyed.

4. Disclosure and recipe visibility

MeerCook does not sell personal information. Provision to an independent third party requires consent or another lawful basis. Where consent is required, the recipient, purpose, items, retention, and consequences of refusal are explained separately.

Public recipes may appear in browsing and search engines. Completed chat-generated recipes are accessible to anyone with the link. Recipe content, photos, and the displayed author name may be visible, without publishing the whole private conversation. Turning off full publication may retain link access. Do not include personal or sensitive information in shared content. Request removal or access restriction through available controls or the contact above.

5. External processing

AI and search features send the information needed to fulfill a request to external processing services. This may include messages, relevant conversation history, recipe context, preferences, selected photos, and search queries. External processing may involve overseas transfers.

When access verification is used, Cloudflare Turnstile and Vercel BotID process browser and network information to protect service access.

6. Cookies and analytics

Cookies and browser storage support login and preferences. You can block or delete them in browser privacy settings, but this may interrupt login or prevent access to an unlinked anonymous account. Logging out or clearing cookies does not delete saved account data.

With optional consent, Google Analytics processes cookie identifiers, page and feature usage, browser and device information, and approximate region. Refusing analytics does not restrict basic service use. The choice can be withdrawn using this page’s controls. Analytics cookies and the browser’s consent choice last up to 180 days. Withdrawal stops future transmission but does not automatically delete previously transmitted data.

7. Rights and how to exercise them

Users and legal representatives may request access, correction, deletion, suspension of processing, or withdrawal of consent by email. Include the relevant account or page and the request; do not send passwords or unnecessary identity documents. The operator verifies authority with minimal information and responds within the legal time limit. Any lawful restriction and objection procedure will be explained. Deletion of information necessary for a feature may prevent its use.

8. Children and sensitive information

Children under fourteen may read public recipes without an account. Where consent is legally required for processing their personal information, the legal representative’s consent must first be obtained and verified. Children and their representatives may exercise the rights above. Children should not submit their name, address, school, phone number, illness, or identifiable photos; ask a guardian for help before sharing personal information.

Health information, including allergies and illnesses, may be sensitive information. Do not submit unnecessary health details or another person’s personal information. Processing sensitive information requires separate consent or a specific legal basis.

9. Security measures

MeerCook uses access restrictions, account permission checks, encrypted communications, and protection of authentication information to safeguard personal information. Access is limited to what is necessary for operation.

10. Remedies and policy changes

For privacy disputes or infringement reports, contact the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee or the Korea Internet and Security Agency’s privacy reporting service. Policy changes and their effective date are published where users can easily find them. Consent is obtained separately when required by law.
